Thank you all so much for rallying around us in Athens, GA on Thursday and Friday. It was the perfect way to close out this tour. We will be laying low for the next couple of weeks, but will head back out on October 23rd for a couple of shows in Florida and then some big ones in North and South Carolina.

Here are the details for those:

10/31/08
Greensboro, NC
War Memorial Auditorium
(less than 30 tickets remain!)

11/1/08
Greenville, SC

We will be playing both of these shows with our good friends Nicole Atkins & the Sea.

We also hope to have a new release ready for sale at the 11/1 show in Greenville. It is a gospel album called Jim Avett and Family, that we were proud to be a part of. For the time being, it will only be sold at shows, and we are trying our best to get it to you by the show in SC! More details to come...

Until next time,
The Avett Brothers

September 29, 2008 - Thank you! New video on Pastemagazine.com!

We had a fantastic time this week in Nashville, Tuscaloosa and Louisville. We say it every week, but it can't be said enough - THANK YOU! We couldn't do this without you. Seeing so many of you out there in the crowd smiling and singing along is what keeps us alive.

We're very excited to announce that Paste Magazine is exclusively broadcasting our newest music video, right now! The video is for "Murder in the City" from The Second Gleam and was shot by our friends at Crackerfarm. Big thanks to them and to Paste for hosting the video. Click here to watch.

This week, we'll be heading down to Athens, GA for a two-night stint at the Georgia Theatre on Thursday and Friday, the 2nd and 3rd. Friday the 3rd is already sold out and we hear Thursday is getting close - so make sure to get your tickets now. Click here to order some.

After that, we'll be taking a few weeks off to spend time with our families and then we will round off the year with a big Fall tour. Please check the tour dates to see if we're stopping by your town.

Also, we are lucky to have poster artists Justin Helton and Andrew Findley working on another series of posters for a number of dates this fall. After the success of this summer's series they hope to bring to the table some fresh ideas and special prints. The posters will be available at various dates including Halloween. One stop on the tour even has a glow in the dark poster! Once again, the prints will be available the day after the show at 10am EST by clicking here, and there will be 5 complete sets available at the end of the run.

Last but not least, we are playing the CBGB festival in Chicago on 11/22 and wanted to let you all know about a contest they're running. It's called the "Last Banjo Standing" contest and will allow one winner to have a slot playing on the main stage! Entries must be subimitted by this Wednesday 10/1, so make sure to click here and check out the details if you're interested.

Thank you (x infinity),
The Avett Brothers
